STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The La Salle Water Polo team made history on the final day of the regular season, defeating the #18 ranked Wagner Seahawks, 18-13 on Sunday. It is La Salle's first-ever win over Wagner, the highest-ranked win in program history, the 4
th-ranked win ever for the Explorers, and Wagner's first regular season MAAC loss since 2019.
La Salle also defeated VMI, 12-10 in the late game.

HOW IT HAPPENED – #18 WAGNER (W, 18-13)
- The teams opened the game trading the first eight goals to lock the contest at four all. La Salle scored the last two of the period to take a 6-4 lead into the second. Five different Explorers scored.
- Wagner scored first in the second, but the Explorers scored the next two to expand its lead to three, 8-5. The Seahawks did not go away, responding with two of their own.
- After a few more goals from each side, the score was 10-9. Goals from Claire Durham and Tatum Lomax lifted the Explorers to a 12-9 halftime lead.
- The third quarter saw La Salle out score Wagner 2-1, with Co' and Grace Smith scoring for the blue & gold.
- La Salle scored two critical goals in the first minute of the fourth quarter to extend the lead to six points, 16-10. The Seahawks could muster a meaningful comeback effort. La Salle own, 18-13.
- Co' shined, scoring seven goals.
HOW IT HAPPENED – VMI (W, 12-10)
- La Salle scored the first two goals before the Keydets responded with two of their own. Sara Quante Talli scored once more as time expired to take a 3-2 lead to the end of the first.
- The Explorers scored three of the first four goals in the second quarter to take a firm 6-3 lead. The sides traded goals to conclude the half, with La Salle up 7-4.
- VMI rallied in the third quarter. The Keydets scored three of the first four to cut the lead to one, 8-7. Lomax scored once more to close out the third quarter.
- Quante Talli and Kolovou scored to close things out, with Martina Bonet Saez adding goal 12 to slam the door. La Salle took the season finale, 12-10.
- Co', Kolovou, and Quante Talli all scored hat tricks.
