Men’s Basketball Adds Arlan Masharaliyev

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University men's basketball program has announced that 6-0 guard Arlan Masharaliyev will be joining the Explorers' men's basketball program for the 2025-26 season. Masharaliyev is among the first players from Kazakhstan to play NCAA Division I basketball, and is believed to be the first player from his home nation to compete in A-10 men's basketball history.

The guard began his career in Kazakhstan, where he played for teams Kau Basketball and Tamos Basketball. With Tamos, he led the team to a 2020-21 National School Championship. He represented his country on the international stage, suiting up for the Kazakhstan U-16 national team. Masharaliyev moved to the United States for high school, where he spent a season with the prestigious Montverde Academy. While attending the school, he practiced alongside notable players such as Cooper Flagg, Liam McNeeley, and Derik Queen. After Montverde, he moved to another institution with a high-caliber basketball program, Prolific Prep, which counts current Philadelphia 76er Adam Bona among its recent alumni. Masharaliyev concluded his prep career at Napa Christian (Ca).
