Boggs Ties Career-High In Saves In Field Hockey's 2-0 Loss To Cornell

Philadelphia, PA – La Salle fell 2–0 to Cornell on Sunday afternoon at Ellen Vagelos Field, as the Big Red used a goal in each half to secure the neutral-site victory.

Cornell opened the scoring midway through the first period when Julia Ramsey converted in the 13th minute, giving the visitors an early edge. The Big Red doubled their advantage just after halftime, with Vivienne Mueller finding the back of the cage in the 31st minute.

The Explorers struggled to generate chances against a stout Cornell defense, registering just four shots on the night. Junior goalkeeper Abby Boggs was stellar in the cage for La Salle, piling up 18 saves while facing a barrage of 33 Cornell shots and 16 penalty corners. Boggs matched her career high which she previously set in the season-opener against Lehigh.

The Blue and Gold will look to regroup when it returns to action next weekend in North Carolina, where they will face Queens and Davidson.
