ANNAPOLIS, MD -- The La Salle Rugby team rallied to erase an early deficit Saturday, but was unable to hold on, falling to Navy, 13-7, in the Explorers' first road match.
Freshman
Kaylie Castro put La Salle even, 5-5, late in the match, and the Explorers then took the lead on classmate
Taylor Major's ensuing conversion kick. However, Navy would respond and scored a try to claim the 13-7 victory.
Navy had scored the opening try and led 5-0 after missing the conversion kick.
La Salle is back in action next Sunday, September 28, when the Explorers return home to host inter-city foe Temple. The match will start at 11:00 am at DeVincent Field.
