Swimming And Diving Falls To Towson In Season Opener

Towson, MD – The La Salle swimming and diving teams opened their 2025–26 campaign on Saturday morning, falling to Towson in a dual meet at Burdick Pool. The women's team lost by a score of 216-84, and the men lost 212-88 to the Tigers.

The women's team was paced by sophomore Cecilie Nørgaard Frost, who claimed the 200-yd butterfly in 2:09.49, narrowly winning by three hundredths of a second. Senior Gabriela Herbreder turned in strong distance efforts, finishing second in the 1000-yd free with a time of 10:45.34, and later winning the 200-yd breaststroke in 2:22.42.

On the men's side, junior Carter Perkins led the way for La Salle with a pair of freestyle wins. Perkins touched first in the 200-yd free at 1:42.65 before returning later to capture the 100-yd free in 45.76. Senior Felix Jedbratt also posted a strong double, winning the 200-yd butterfly in 1:51.97 and adding a victory in the 100-yd fly at 48.98. In the diving well, senior Carter Randall secured a runner-up finish on the 3-meter board with a score of 298.65.

Towson controlled the relays, sweeping both the men's and women's 200-yd medley and 200-yd freestyle relays, while also capturing wins in the middle- and long-distance freestyle events to seal the team results.

La Salle returns to action in three weeks when both squads host the Drexel Dragons at Kirk Pool on Saturday, October 18. The meet will start at 11 am.
