This Week In La Salle Athletics: Women’s Golf In Action Three Times, Field Hockey Plays Twice In Philadelphia

Here is a look of the action to come this week for La Salle Athletics, brought to you by Hershey's Ice Cream.

Women's Golf

The La Salle women's golf team will compete in two tournaments this week, starting with the Autumn Harvest at Architects Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.

Next up, the Explorers will begin the Evann Parker Memorial on Sunday at Lake View Country Club. Each tournament will feature 54 holes across two days of play.

Sophomore Samantha Song currently leads the Explorers in scoring

Women's Soccer

The Explorers play on Thursday at Saint Louis at 8:00 pm, followed by a home game against Loyola Chicago at 1:00 pm on Sunday at McCarthy Stadium. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.

Last week, the squad went 2-0, with a 1-0 road win at Rhode Island and a 3-2 come from behind win against George Mason at home. Freshman forward Kayden Williams scored the game-winner against Rhode Island and assisted on the equalizer in the game against George Mason.

Men's and Women's Cross County

La Salle cross country will compete again on Friday, racing in the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, PA at 10:00 am.

In the teams' last meet, senior Charlie Hazlett finished fifth overall among the men and the men's team placed second at the Main Line Invite. Sophomore Amelia Green led the way for the women's team, placing 16th as the women got fourth place in the competition.

Field Hockey

The Explorers will play two non-conference games in Philadelphia this weekend, starting with a road matchup against Drexel followed by a home tilt with Rider.

Last weekend, junior Darian DeLeo scored in each of the team's games against Richmond and Bryant, helping the Blue and Gold to their third victory in the later matchup.

Rugby

La Salle looks to build off its first two wins in program history last week against Temple, as it heads to Connecticut to face Quinnipiac on Saturday.

Men's Soccer

La Salle will look to rebound off its 2-1 defeat to #8 Saint Louis last week, playing this Saturday at VCU at 7:00 pm.

Junior Alexandru Zama recorded his second goal of the season in the game against the Billikens.
