Woodstown, NJ - On Saturday, the La Salle University women's golf team took on two feathered opponents at Town & Country Golf Links in the Wagner Seahawks and Saint Joseph's Hawks. The former took first place in the match, nothing each the best four scores overall.
The Explorers finished 59 strokes over par as a team and finished second. They were led by sophomore
Samantha Song who shot an 83 (+12) to finish sixth. Senior
Nina Okenkova finished just behind individually, shooting an 85 (+14). Freshman
Jewel Schaefer finished in a tie for ninth in her second collegiate event, while senior
Hannah Gammons and freshman
Sarah Doherty rounded out the Blue and Gold's efforts.
La Salle will have the opportunity fo face off with Wagner and Saint Joseph's again in two weeks at the Autumn Harvest hosted by Lehigh. The 54-hole tournament located at Architects Golf Club in Lopatcong, NJ will feature many familiar opponents.
