This Week In La Salle Athletics: Men’s, Women’s Basketball Host Saint Joseph’s

Here is a look of the action to come this week for La Salle Athletics, brought to you by Hershey's Ice Cream.   
 

Men's Basketball 

  • Winners of two straight Atlantic-10 games, La Salle looks to continue its momentum on Wednesday, traveling to New York City to face Fordham at 7:00 pm. Following the bye on Saturday, La Salle heads to The Bronx following wins over Dayton on January 21 and St. Bonaventure on January 17.  

  • La Salle returns to John E. Glaser Arena on Saturday to take on crosstown rival Saint Joseph's at 2:30 pm for the Explorers' third home game in the last four contests.  

  • In last Wednesday's thrilling victory, 67-64, over Dayton, graduate student Jaeden Marshall dropped 25 points on four three-pointers and a perfect seven-of-seven from the line. Marshall's performance led the Explorers to their first victory over the Flyers since February 2022.

Women's Basketball 

  • On Wednesday, the Explorers will return home for their second of two matchups with Saint Joseph's this season, before again hitting the road for their lone contest with Duquesne on Saturday. 

  • In the win at St. Bonaventure, Aryss Macktoon and Ashleigh Connor combined for 44 points as the Explorers built a lead that grew to as many as 30.

Swimming & Diving 

  • La Salle swim and dive will head to Monmouth on Saturday to take on the Hawks in a dual meet at 11:00 am.  

  • La Salle's men's and women's teams swept Fordham last Saturday on Senior Day, earning a 157-143 victory over the Rams.

Track & Field 

  • La Salle track and field will head down to University City to compete in the Penn Invite on Friday at 12:00 pm.  

  • Last weekend at The Armory in New York City, the Explorers impressed in the Dr. Sander Scorcher. Cara Coppolino placed first in the women's open 3k (10:02:06) and Chanel Muir placed second overall in the men's mile, as his 4:01:45 mark was good for 55th-best in the nation this season. As a team, La Salle posted top ten results in six different events.
