Philadelphia, PA - La Salle University men's and women's track & field teams will begin their 2026 outdoor seasons Saturday, racing in the Penn Challenge meet at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field. The meet will start at noon.
The men's and women's teams are hoping to build off last year's finishes in the conference championship meet. The men finished 11th last year in the conference championship with 18 points, and the women finished tied for 13th with 26 points.
Who's Back
Junior
Gwenno Goode looks to make it a second consecutive season making the NCAA Outdoor Championships, having ran in the 3k steeplechase last year after placing 11th in the NCAA Regionals in that same event. Junior
Helene Usher will be back for her third season, as last year she took silver in the 10k at the A-10 Conference Championship meet.. For the men, junior
Matt Hill will be back looking to medal in the conference championships for a third straight year, (10k bronze in 2024 and 2025), while sophomore
Callum Murray will look to build off his fifth-place finish in the 1500m at last year's conference championships.
Incredible Indoors
La Salle earned six total medals at the 2026 A-10 Indoor Championships, with the men's team earning two bronzes and two gold, and senior
Neve Moulai getting two of her own. Moulai got a silver in the 5k and a bronze in the 3k, while freshman
Jacob Gardner got bronze in the 3k. Junior
Charlie Rogers got bronze in the 5k, and senior
Chanel Muir won the mile. To cap off the championships, the men's DMR team of Gardner, Muir, freshman
Sean Cronin, and sophomore
Evan Dias took gold. a talented freshman class in 2026, featuring 14 freshmen on the men's team, and eight freshman on the women's team, as well as five transfers (two men, three women).
A-10 Accolades
The men's track & field team earned four conference awards from the 2026 indoor season. Freshmen
Ryan Stankiewicz and
Sean Cronin earned All-Rookie honors, along with sophomore
Dylan Stoneman. Senior
Chanel Muir received All-Academic honors from the 2026 indoor campaign.
The Schedule
The Explorers' 2026 schedule consists of 11 meets. After the Penn Challenge meet, the teams compete again at the Raleigh Relays from March 26-28. The teams will race in nine more meets, which will be ran in either Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, or Virginia, before concluding their season with the Widener Final Qualifier on May 11. The A-10 Outdoor Championships will be ran at George Mason Stadium from May 2-3.
