PHILADELPHIA, PA - The La Salle women's rugby team built a commanding first-half lead and held off a second-half rally to secure a 25-17 road victory over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon.

Alyssa Williams led the Explorers with three tries, while Paisley Davey added a try, the first of her collegiate career. Jocelyn Terry contributed five points on a conversion and a penalty kick.

Davey opened the scoring, with Terry adding the conversion to give La Salle a 7-0 advantage. Williams followed with back-to-back tries to extend the lead to 17-0 before Mount St. Mary's answered with a try of their own. Terry's penalty kick sent the Explorers into halftime ahead 20-5.

Williams completed her hat trick in the second half, pushing La Salle's advantage to 25-5. The Mountaineers responded with two tries and a conversion to cut the deficit to eight, but the Explorers held on to secure the victory.

La Salle finished with four tries, with Williams accounting for 15 of the team's 25 points.

The Explorers return to Hank DeVincent Field next weekend where they face Temple on Saturday, September 26 at noon.
