Women's Rugby Falls to Princeton

PHILADEPHIA, PA - The La Salle women's rugby team opened its second varsity season with a 52-17 loss to Princeton on Saturday at Hank DeVincent Field.

Kaylie Castro and Bailey Borum-Gray each scored a try for the Explorers. Freshman Jocelyn Terry contributed seven points, converting both tries and adding a penalty kick.

La Salle erased an early deficit when Castro's try and Terry's conversion tied the match at 7-7. The Explorers remained within four at 14-10 before Princeton scored twice late in the first half to take a 26-10 lead into the break.

Borum-Gray and Terry combined to bring La Salle within 33-17 during the second half, but Princeton responded with three unanswered tries to secure the victory. The Explorers return to action Friday, Sept. 11, at Army.
