La Salle University Athletics

Matt Gionta is in his fifth year as a member of the Athletic Department. Gionta served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Advancement for 2 years, before assuming his current role as Director of Campus Recreation in 2008. Gionta oversees the operation of the IBC Fitness Center, intramurals,fitness and club sports program, as well as serving on the University[apos]s Health Advisory Committee and Athletic Department Senior Staff.

Matt is a graduate of Temple University[apos]s prestigious Sport and Recreation Management program (2004) and earned his MBA from La Salle (2009). An active member of the City 6 Extramural Classic and NIRSA (National Intramural-Recreational Sport Association), Gionta manages and plays for the Philadelphia Comets Baseball Club of the Greater Philadelphia Men[apos]s Adult Baseball League. The Delaware County native resides in Prospect Park with his wife, Rachel.
