2009: Appeared in 15 games and made four starts throwing at least one inning in each...Led the Explorers with a team-best 3.28 ERA out of the pen, pitching at least 2.0 innings in six outings...Was also the best pitcher with two-outs, allowing a .163 average (7-43)...Six times did not allow a run in his time on the mound...That included his first appearances in relief, throwing 3.0 innings and striking out two at Duke (2/21-G2)...Also did not allow a run in second game, 2.0 IP at Morehead State (2/28-G2)...Picked up his first career victory in his first career start, 6.0 IP, four strikeouts, one earned run versus Delaware State (3/25)...Combined on a shutout with Dennis Burge and Cody Weiss versus Coppin State (4/8) in third start to pick up his second win...Threw 3.0 innings and did not allow a run and struck out four versus Massachusetts (4/24)...His season-high for relief-innings was 5.0 at Charlotte (5/1)...In his final start, went 5.0 innings and struck out a career-high five batters in no decision at Rider (5/12).
