Kelly Broadway

Kelly Broadway enters her second season as head field hockey coach at La Salle in 2019. Prior to arriving at 20th and Olney, Broadway spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Villanova and previously spent time on Temple's coaching staff as associate head coach.

In her first year at the helm, the Explorers put together one of their best offensive seasons in recent memory. La Salle registered 44 goals, the most in a single season in over a decade, and had six individuals total double-figure points.

Seniors Mackenzie Karcher and Logan Oh both ranked in the Atlantic 10's Top 10 in points, while junior Amanda Chapin matched Oh for the team lead with eight assists, which tied both for eighth in the A-10. 

Following the season, senior Megan Kida was selected to compete in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game, which took place at the NCAA Final Four in Louisville, Ky. Chapin earned Academic All-Atlantic 10 honors while Oh and her sister, Willow, also earned postseason accolades from the league.
 
Broadway served three seasons at Villanova as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Villanova advanced to the BIG EAST Tournament in her first season with the program, earning a No. 3 seed.
 
The Wildcats were honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for their academic accomplishments in all three years of her tenure, and a pair of student-athletes earned spots on the All-BIG EAST Second Team this past season.
 
Broadway arrived at Villanova from Temple University where she was an assistant from 2011-14. In 2013, she helped the Owls to a 14-6 overall record, a Top 20 national ranking and a win over No. 6 Penn State.
 
The following year, she was promoted to Associate Head Coach and was once again an integral part of Temple's success. The Owls went 14-7, was ranked nationally throughout the season and advanced to the BIG EAST Tournament championship game. 

As a player, Broadway (formerly Driscoll) was a standout goalkeeper at Old Dominion University from 2006-09. She was a two-time First Team All-CAA honoree and Second Team All-Region performer, finishing her career with 25 shutouts.
 
As a freshman, she was named First Team All-CAA en route to helping the Monarchs to a 19-4 record and an NCAA Tournament berth. She ranked 16th nationally in save percentage and led the Colonial Athletic Association in goals against average at 0.72. The following year, she was again named First Team All-CAA as ODU returned to the NCAA Tournament.
 
Broadway was named to the USA Outdoor National Team from May 2010- June 2011. She was selected to represent the U.S. in the NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star game in November, 2010, and was on the roster for the U.S./Canada series and the U.S./Japan series in 2011. In March 2013, Broadway was named to the USA Indoor National Team and represented the USA in the Can/Am Games in August 2013. 

Broadway earned a bachelor's degree with a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology in 2010, before obtaining a Master's Degree in Applied Sociology from ODU in 2011. Additionally, Broadway earned a second Master's Degree from Temple in Liberal Arts in 2013.

A native of West Chester, Pa. and graduate of Villa Maria Academy, Broadway and her husband, Norris, reside in Philadelphia, Pa.
