Leah Angstadt was hired in August 2013 and enters her second season as an assistant field hockey coach at La Salle in the fall 2014 season.
Angstadt helped mentor three Atlantic 10 postseason honorees, including two All-Conference Second Team picks and an All-Rookie selection, in her first season on 20th and Olney.
Angstadt came to La Salle from Ursinus College, where she spent 2012 as an assistant with the Bears in her first year of collegiate coaching experience. She also has coaching experience at the club level, serving as head coach for Horizon Field Hockey in West Chester, Pa. She attained Level I certification at Futures and was also a camp counselor for West Chester University's field hockey camps.
Angstadt put together a stellar playing career at West Chester, leading the Golden Rams to the 2011 Division II national championship. She was a Division II Second Team All-American, First Team All-PSAC and ECAC All-Star pick that season. She earned Atlantic 10 All-Rookie honors in 2008 while West Chester was a Division I program.
Angstadt also brings a strong academic background to the Explorers, who are among the top academic teams nationally. She was a member of the 2011 NFHCA Division II Academic Squad, the D-II national academic team, the Athletic Director's Honor Roll as well as the WCU Dean's List.
The Fleetwood, Pa., native graduated cum laude from West Chester in 2012 with a degree in Health & Physical Education.
