Sara Keeny

Sara Keeny was hired as an assistant softball coach in September of 2019 and enters her second season at La Salle in 2020-21. 

In her first season, Keeny oversaw the Explorers' outfield and slap hitters. She worked with Lex Ortman, who started all 10 of La Salle's games in 2019-20 and led the Blue & Gold with a .371 batting average and 13 hits as a left-handed slapper.

No stranger to the game, Keeny had a very successful career at Division II, Kutztown. During her senior campaign, Keeny earned 2019 D2CCA and NFCA First Team All-American while also being named the D2CCA Athlete of the Year and PSAC East Athlete of the Year. During her senior campaign, she hit .518 with 100 hits, 62 runs, 15 doubles, seven triples, and 29 RBIs. On the base paths, Keeny stole 45 bases.
  
The four-time NFCA All-Atlantic Region selection was a slap-hitter who played outfield for the Golden Bears. On top of her national and regional award, she was a three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete and four-time All-PSAC East selection.
 
For her career, Keeny slashed .440 with 289 hits, 172 runs scored, 77 RBIs, 29 doubles, 14 triples, and 134 stolen bases. She holds the Kutztown single-season record for hits (100) and batting average (.518), while also holding the all-time hits record with 289.
 
Keeny graduated from Kutztown in May of 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. The Warminster, Pa. native attended Tennent High School.
