Mimi Riley enters her seventh season on the sidelines at La Salle University as an assistant coach. Riley assists with recruiting and scouting as well as planning practices. She will spearhead all travel coordinating and community service projects as well as guard skill development. She has also taken on a more active role in the recruiting effort, as she will take the lead on all underclassmen recruiting.
Riley came to La Salle after a one-year stint as an assistant coach at Georgetown. Riley was familiar with the Georgetown program after playing for BIG EAST-rival Villanova. Her coaching duties for the Hoyas included scouting, recruiting, individual player instruction, coaching the guards and travel arrangements.
Riley graduated from Villanova in May 2002 with a degree in communications. She helped lead Villanova to two straight NCAA Tournament appearances (2001, 2002), while playing for the Wildcats from 1997-2002.
She was the Wildcats starting point guard in both her junior and senior seasons and was a 2002 First Team Philadelphia All-Big 5 selection. Riley ended her final season averaging 12.3 points per game and a team-high 4.6 assists. She was named a 2002 BIG EAST Honorable Mention and was awarded the 2002 BIG EAST Sportsmanship Award.
During her four-year career Riley amassed 862 points, 416 assists and 356 rebounds in 117 games. Her 416 assists placed her sixth all-time in the Wildcat record books.
A Philadelphia-area product, Riley is from Bala Cynwyd and attended Archbishop Carroll High School.
