Matt Davis

  • Title
    Assistant Women's Golf Coach
Matt Davis was hired as the assistant women's golf coach in September of 2019 and enters his second season in 2020-21.

Prior to joining the La Salle staff, Davis served as the first head coach in Delaware Valley University women’s golf history from 2014-2018. He joined DelVal as part of its athletic expansion when the institution added five NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports including women's golf.

In 2018, Davis coached freshman Rachel Brahler as she placed fourth at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship. That earned her first-team, all-conference honors as well as Rookie of the Year accolades - the first in program history.

Davis is originally from Australia where he excelled at junior and amateur golf. Following a move to the USA he competed at the college level at USC-Aiken and Lenoir-Rhyne University before making the move to the professional ranks. After pursuing his dream for four years, Davis returned to Philadelphia, where his career began as an instructor at the prestigious Julian Krinsky School of Golf.

After taking a job as an Assistant Professional at Spring Mill CC, Davis was quickly promoted to First Assistant and was responsible for the bulk on the instruction programs. After three happy seasons at SMCC, he was offered the position of First Assistant at Indian Valley CC, eventually becoming the Interim Head Professional in 2015 before the opportunity came to open his own academy at Blue Bell Country Club.

After two years at BBCC, Davis returned to his favorite place with the opening of the The MD Golf Academy at Spring Mill CC in 2017.

Davis and his wife Page live in Doylestown, Pa., where they are parents to sons Andrew and Ben.
