Mallory Tornetta enters her first season as an assistant coach for the La Salle lacrosse program, and third season overall after spending the last two as a graduate assistant coach.
Tornetta, a 2009 Rutgers graduate, will help with the midfield and defensive units for the Explorers. She most recently served as a volunteer assistant coach, at Division III Farleigh Dickinson, as well as a Sports Performance Coach at Parisi Speed School.
A Communications major with a minor in Psychology, Tornetta started four years at midfield for the Scarlet Knights lacrosse program. She was named a three-time Big East Academic All Star.
While at Rutgers, Tornetta was also active on the student-athlete leadership council and served as the captain during 2007-2008.
Prior to her playing career at Rutgers, Tornetta was a field hockey and lacrosse standout at Great Valley High School in Pennsylvania. She helped the lacrosse team to the PA State Lacrosse Championships during both her freshman and senior campaigns. A two-time US Lacrosse All-American, Tornetta holds Great Valley's record for career points (486) and career assists (227).
Tornetta is pursuing a master's degree in communication at La Salle.
