Natasha Fuchs enters her second season as an assistant coach for the La Salle University women's lacrosse program. Her field duties include working with the attack and assisting in the midfield and draw control.
Fuchs helped the Explorers reach new program highs during the 2010 season. La Salle garnered a No. 2 seed in the Atlantic 10 Tournament after earning a program-record nine victories, including five conference wins, during the regular season. Two offensive players, Jill Davis and Lauren McDermott, received post-season awards, being recognized as the Women's Lacrosse Student Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year, respectively.
Prior to coming to La Salle, Fuchs was a standout lacrosse student-athlete at James Madison University, where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Science in 2008.
Fuchs left James Madison ranked second all-time in career assists (83) and ninth all-time in career points. During her senior campaign in 2008, she led the Dukes in assists (18) and draw controls (39) and also ranked second in the Colonial Athletic Association in assists and third in the conference in draw controls. Fuchs was a two-time CAA Commissioner's Academic Award honoree and was named to the CAA All-Tournament team in 2007.
From 2005-2007, Fuchs was also a member of the US Developmental Team.
Fuchs also played two seasons of lacrosse at Virginia Tech from 2004-2006 before transferring to James Madison. In her Freshmen year she broke the single season assists record (38) and led the conference in assists. During her Freshmen year she was named ACC Rookie of the year, and was named to the ACC All-Tournament team. Fuchs was also named first team all - state. As a sophomore, she ranked seventh in the nation in draw controls per game (3.59).
A native of Bay Shore, NY, Fuchs played field hockey and lacrosse for Bay Shore High School and was a two-time US Lacrosse All-American. Fuchs also played on the Long Island region team, which she helped to a gold medal at the 2003 NY State Empire Games.
Fuchs comes from a lacrosse family - her older sister, Tanya, played lacrosse at Denver and her younger sister, Alicia, currently plays at Dowling.
