Mara Sardella will spend the 2008 season serving as a team captain and student-athlete assistant coach. She played one year with the Explorers, in 2006.

2006: Saw action in all 17 games and started 13... Led the team in ground balls with 37, including a season-high five against Lafayette (3/29/06)... Finished second on the team in caused turnovers with 16, including four against Lehigh (4/12/06)... Controlled the draw eight times... Recorded a 2-6 record in free position shots... Attempted 29 shots, including 18 on goal... Ranked eighth on the team in scoring with 11 points... Netted a season-best two goals at Villanova (3/1/06)... Recorded an assist in games at Albany (2/26/06), vs. Longwood (3/18/06) and at St. Bonaventure (4/9/06).

At Urbana: First player at Urbana High School and in Frederick County to be selected as a US Lacrosse Baltimore Chapter Honorable Mention All-American... Selected as the Frederick News Post Defensive Player of the Year... A two-time First Team All-Area Midfield for the Frederick News Post... Selected as a First Team Chesapeake Division MVAL, All-Gazette and Central MD Conference... Recipient of the Best All-Around and Defensive Player Awards... Earned the award for Team Ground Ball Leader twice... A Second Team All-Area Midfield selection as a freshman... Also competed for the FSLAS Club Tam and was named First Team All-Galaxy in first year eligible.
