- Member of the Explorers' inaugural rugby team.
- Finished the season with two tries.
- Scored one try in the first game of a doubleheader sweep at home against Temple (Sept. 28).
- Scored one try in the final game of a tripleheader against Army (Oct. 18).
Background
- Two-time New York State Women's Rugby Champion.
- Two-time state runner-up.
- Three-time All-State selection.
- Played with the EGRL as a senior in the USA territorial championship in Tampa, Fla.
- Wrestled as a senior in high school and went 20-5 overall.
- Daughter of Carey Gillis and Aaron Close.
