Tobias Van Dyke joins La Salle as an assistant coach for the men's and women's swimming & diving programs, bringing experience coaching at the club, high school and recreational levels following a four-year collegiate swimming career at the University of Cincinnati.
Van Dyke comes to 20th & Olney from Nittany Lion Aquatic Club, a USA Swimming Silver Medal club, where he served as an assistant swim coach in 2023 and returned in April 2025. He developed and led workouts for the club's senior group, provided technical feedback and coached swimmers at local and overnight travel meets.
Van Dyke also served as an assistant swim coach at State College Area High School during the 2022-23 season before returning in November 2025. His responsibilities included planning and conducting workouts while promoting teamwork, growth and a safe training environment.
He previously coached with Centre Region Parks and Recreation in the summer of 2022, leading daily workouts across three age groups for a summer league program with more than 300 athletes. In that role, he helped younger swimmers develop their skills and enthusiasm for the sport.
Van Dyke competed at Cincinnati from 2017-2021 and served as team captain during the 2020-21 season. He was a two-time Academic All-American and a four-time recipient of the Bearcat Strong award.
Van Dyke earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in marketing from Cincinnati's Carl H. Lindner College of Business in 2021, graduating with a 3.67 GPA.
