Susan Kim is set to begin her first season as a member of the Explorers coaching staff.  She brings a wealth of knowledge to the job, gained from both her playing days on the court and her coaching experiences on the sidelines.

Kim graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2004. While there, she was Co-President and Co-Captain of the Women’s Volleyball Club, playing a lead role in organizing scheduling, practices, and fundraisers. Upon graduating she continued her passion for the sport through coaching.

She has a litany of coaching experience at the high school and club levels. She began her coaching career as an assistant women’s varsity coach at her high school alma mater Council Rock, helping the team to an undefeated conference record and title.
Her first head-coaching role came with Archbishop Wood where she served as women’s varsity coach for six seasons from 2006-2011. During her tenure, she guided the program to three Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) Division Championships (’06, ’07, ’08), two PCL League Championships (’08, ’10), and amassed an overall record of 79-23 (.775 win %). She was named Bucks County Courier Times Coach of the Year in back-to-back years in ’07 and ’08.

In the spring of 2011 Susan took over as head coach of men’s volleyball at Council Rock North. She guided the team to a District 1 AAA Championship and PIAA State Playoff berth during her first season, with an undefeated 12-0 conference record and 16-1 overall record.

At the club level, she served as assistant director and head coach of the Del-Val Volleyball Club from ’06 to ’08. She left Del-Val in the spring of 2008 and founded the Infinity Volleyball Academy where she still serves as director and coach.

Last fall, Susan made the jump to the collegiate coaching ranks, serving as an assistant coach of the women’s volleyball team at Holy Family University (Div. II).

In March of 2013, Susan began volunteering for USA Volleyball High Performance as a talent evaluator with emphasis based on evaluating libero skills. It is this area where Kim’s impact will be most beneficial for the La Salle program.
