After taking over as the interim head coach midway through the 2025 season,
Jason Grubb was named the Explorers' head women's water polo coach, in May 2025. Grubb was elevated to interim head coach in February 2025. He joined the La Salle women’s water polo staff as an assistant coach in November 2023.
Grubb guided the Explorers to seven wins in his first eight games at the helm and finished the year on a high note. During the final weekend of the regular season, La Salle defeated No. 18 Wagner. It marked La Salle's first-ever win over Wagner, the highest-ranked win in program history, the fourth-ranked win ever for the Explorers, and Wagner's first regular season MAAC loss since 2019. The Explorers also earned a victory over VMI to finish the year with two straight victories.
A former head coach at MAAC opponent, Villanova (2015-16). Grubb coached 3 All-MAAC players including the Defensive Player of the Year (Julie Conrath). That same season he led Villanova to a semifinal berth at the MAAC Championship.
Grubb has worked with North Penn High School water polo since 2001. Acting as an assistant coach from 2001-09 on the boy’s side and from 2001-14 on the girl’s side. He then took over as the head coach of the boy’s program in 2010 and the girls in 2016.
Starting in 2001, Grubb has won 20 PIAA State Championships (8 boys, 12 girls). His athletes collected 52 All-America honors, and 10 PIAAÂ Most Valuable Player awards. He also collected PIAA Coach of the year 3 times. Grubb has also been an NCAA certified referee since 2007, working all levels of CWPA Water Polo.
