A La Salle and Philadelphia baseball lifer, Mike Lake returns to 20th and Olney to serve as Operations Assistant in what will be his 15th season coaching in the program.
Ten of those seasons (2008-2017) came as head coach, including an Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year award in 2010.
Lake also played at and graduated from La Salle with a bachelor’s degree in business management in 1982.
Lake most recently coached at Archbishop Ryan High School – also his alma matter – before retiring in 2021. It was Lake’s second stint as skipper at Archbishop Ryan, having led the program from 1990-2001.
No stranger to recruiting talent, Lake has coached eight MLB Draft selections and nine All A-10 selections. In addition to his 2010 A-10 Coach of the Year award, Lake was named Big 5 Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2011.
Lake is also a member of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, inducted in 2023. Â
