La Salle Comes Out Ahead Of Rider; Falls To Delaware

PHILADELPHIA – The women' s swimming & diving team defeated Rider, 175-119, but lost to Delaware, 168-130 on Saturday afternoon at Kirk Pool.

Junior Elizabeth Jordan led La Salle with a trio of first-place finishes, winning the 200-free (1:54.64), 100-free (52.73) and 50-free (24.74).

Freshman Colleen Larkin also had a good day in the pool, coming out on top in the 1000-free (10:21.99) and the 500-free (5:03.54), and placing third in the 200-IM (2:12.46).

Junior Jessica Simunek posted three second-place finishes, clocking in 1:08.15 in the 100-breast, 2:26.54 in the 200-breast and 58.28 in the 100-fly.

In the backstroke events, freshman Amina Wilson took third in 100-back (1:00.10) and 200-back (2:09.89).

Sophomore Katie Snee finished second in the 50-free (24.78) and third in the 100-free (54.50).

The Explorers' 200-medley and 400-free relays took second.

In the diving completion, senior Laurie McLaughlin swept the 1-meter (250.80) and 3-meter dives (243.60).

La Salle will return to competition on Friday when it travels to Lewisburg, Pa. for the three-day Bucknell Invite.
