BUFFALO, N.Y. – The women's swimming & diving squad posted wins over Atlantic 10 opponents St. Bonaventure and Duquesne in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon at the Flickinger Aquatic Center.
The Explorers bested St. Bonaventure, 184-149, and beat Duquesne by a score of 186-142.
Sophomore
Greta Reichert and freshman
Colleen Larkin went 1-2 in the 1650 free, clocking in at 17:32.29 and 17:44.20, respectively.
Larkin would go on to take the 500-free in 5:04.37, while Reichert came in third in the same race (5:08.91). Reichert followed up her distance performances with a third-place finish in the 200-free (1:58.17). Larkin also finished second in the 200 IM (2:12.05).
Junior
Elizabeth Jordan had a strong showing in the sprints, winning the 50-free (24.78) and 100-free (53.43) and coming in second in the 200-free (1:55.77).
Sophomore
Katie Snee placed second in the 50-free (24.84).
The underclassmen are beginning to show that they can fill in some gaps in the team and stepped up in the stroke events.
Sophomore
Jessica Simunek had a pair of second-place finishes in 100-breast (1:06.99) and 200-breast (2:24.30).
Freshman
Lisa Woodman finished third in 200-fly (2:12.95), while classmate
Amina Wilson came in third in 200-back (2:11.81).
La Salle won both the 200-free (1:39.21) and 200-medley relays (1:50.98), while coming in second in the 400-free relay (3:40.15).
Senior
Laurie McLaughlin swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives. Freshman
Dahlia Gordon placed second in the 1-meter, while sophomore
Shauna Hannings came in second in the 3-meter.
La Salle returns to the pool with a tri-meet against Delaware and Rider on Saturday. Held at Kirk Pool, the meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
