PHILADELPHIA – The Explorers will look to extend their home winning streak to an arena record-tying seven games as the welcome Army to Tom Gola Arena for a 2:00 p.m. contest on Saturday.

All members of the Armed Forces will receive complimentary admission upon presentation of valid ID.

Scouting the Explorers (6-3)
La Salle took care of Towson its last time out, defeating the Tigers 89-51, the largest margin of victory for a La Salle squad since a 100-60 win against Manhattan on February 22, 1990.

Defense is winning games for the Blue and Gold this season as the Explorers have held opponents under 35% shooting for three straight games and at 52 total points or less for three straight games - the first time since a three-game stretch from December 6-13, 1950.

Key to that is that La Salle has held the opposing team's leading scorer under his season average for six consecutive games.

In addition, La Salle has a +4.11 turnover margin, good for third in the Atlantic 10.

Offensively, the Explorers have been hitting their shots beyond the arc at a .405 clip, good for 30th nationally and third in the conference.  Sophomore Sam Mills has the second-best three-point shooting percentage in the A-10, at .511.

La Salle is currently on a four-game winning streak.

Scouting the Black Knights (3-6)
Army dropped a close contest at Marist its last time out.  Leading at the break, the Red Foxes added the game's last seven points to take a 56-59 victory.

Junior Ella Ellis added 13 points in that game and leads the squad with 15.8 points per game this season. He has scored in double figures in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.

The team's leading rebounder is freshman Maxwell Lenox, who adds 5.2 per game.

The Black Knights shoot .419 from the floor and allow opponents to shoot .423 against them.

Army is just 1-4 on the road this season.

The series
La Salle leads the all-time series 13-4 and has won the last five meetings between the two squads.  However, the teams have not squared off since 1990.

Next up
The Explorers will take some time off from competition during final exam week.  Their next contest is at Delaware on December 19.
