PHILADELPHIA - Head volleyball coach Dave Stever is pleased to announce La Salle's schedule for the 2011 season.

Four tournaments highlight the Explorers' non-conference slate before the squad embarks on Atlantic 10 play.  The complete schedule can be found here.

La Salle will open the season by hosting Morgan State, St. Peter's, Providence and Canisius in the La Salle Invitational at Tom Gola Arena from August 26-27. 

"The team is excited to once again host the La Salle Invitational," head coach Dave Stever said. "I believe the four tournaments will help prepare us for our tough Atlantic 10 schedule."

After playing Towson on August 30 at home, the Explorers will spend Labor Day weekend at the Big 5 Invitational, which will be held at the Palestra.

La Salle will also play against Delaware State, Quinnipiac, Navy and Hartford and the Quinnipiac/Hartford Invitational from September 9-10. 

The final regular-season tournament for the Blue and Gold will be the Lafayette Lehigh Crosstown Tournament to be held from September 16-17.  Aside from the tournament's hosts, the Explorers will also face Princeton.

Farleigh Dickinson, Coppin State and NJIT round out La Salle's other non-conference opponents.

The Explorers will open Atlantic 10 play on the road against Dayton, which went 17-0 in the A-10 last season and has spent 19 consecutive weeks in the national rankings, on September 23.

La Salle will also play Dayton and Duquesne during its final homestand of the season on November 11 and November 12.
