The Women's Freshman Eight has been named the GoExplorers.com Student-Athletes of the Week for its third place finish at Saturday's Atlantic 10 Championships. The boat, coxed by Maura Green and including Elizabeth Campanella, Chelsea Bradley, Madeline Haaga, Mary Pat Conville, Johanna Beck, Emily Loughlin, Eileen Dwyer and Colleen Hamill look to continued success in the "Aunt Roe."

The Freshman Eight took third at Saturday's Atlantic 10 Championships, winning the first win for a Freshman Eight in La Salle A-10 history. The weather conditions over the weekend didn't seem to impact too much as the boat battled to the medal's dock with a time of 8:49.69.

When the team traveled to Coventry, CT, on April 3, the boat just missed taking first place with a time of 7:19.91. UConn bested the boat by just one second, clocking in at 7:20.91. The following week, the crew competed at the Knecht Cup. The women finished third in their heat with a time of 7:47.68 and were qualified for the semi-finals where they posted a third place finish and a trip to the grand final. The boat took fifth in the grand final with a solid time of 7:23.16.

Next up for the Explorers is the Bergen Cup on April 30. The Freshman Eight will see Saint Joseph's again and have a chance to redeem themselves after coming in just behind the crew at A-10's.
