Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Game at Lafayette

Dundon, Pink named to All-Tournament Team.

Box Score PHILADELPHIA - A late goal by Lafayette's Blake Fink was all that was needed as the La Salle men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision in the finale of the Lafayette Puma Soccer Classic in Easton, Pa., on Sunday afternoon.

Senior Nick Dundon and sophomore Kevin Pink were both named to the All-Tournament team.

Neither team could generate much offense, as there were a total of just 13 shots taken in the game - eight for Lafayette and five for the Explorers. Fink connected on one of those shots in the 65th minute when Sean Peckham took a free kick into the box and found Fink, who headed the ball in for the game's lone score.

John McCarthy returned to the lineup for the Explorers and made three saves in 90 minutes of work. Nathan McDonald was between the posts for the Leopards, also stopping three shots.

Prior to the day's contest, the teams observed a moment of silence to honor America and the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

The Explorers remain on the road as they head to West Point on Saturday for an 8:15 PM contest.
