Women's Swimming & Diving Wins Rhode Island Invitational

Final Results

KINGSTON, R.I. – The La Salle women's swimming & diving team won the Rhode Island Invitational with a score of 516 in the event finals on Saturday evening.

Freshman Amina Wilson paced the Explorers with three individual first-place finishes. Wilson finished in front in the 200 IM (2:11.27), 100-back (59.63) and 200-back (2:08.62).

Jessica Simunek won two events herself, taking the 100-breast in 1:07.48 and 200-breast in 2:24.83.
Lianne McCluskey won the 100-fly in 58.29.

The Explorers won the 400-medley relay in 3:58.76, the 200-free relay in 1:38.82 and the 200-medley relay in 1:52.33 to boost their score.

Elizabeth Jordan (24.70) and Katie Snee (24.80) placed 2-3 in the 50-free.  Jordan would go on to finish second in the 100-breast (1:07.48) and third in the 100-free (53.46).

Chelsey Curran took third in the 100-back (1:01.49) and Greta Reichert took third in the 1000-free (10:44.71).

Colleen Larkin placed second in the 500-free, clocking in at 5:01.03, as well as placing second in the 200-fly (2:11.38) and third in the 400 IM (4:41.99).

Senior Laurie McLaughlin helped the Explorers in the diving competition, placing second in the 1-meter dive (228.95), while sophomore Paige Frishkorn took third in the 3-meter dive (199.65).

The Explorers are coming off a winter break training trip in Puerto Rico.  They will swim Fordham during Senior Day at Kirk Pool on January 21.
