Women's Swimming & Diving Recognizes Five Seniors During Loss To Fordham

PHILADELPHIA – The women's swimming & diving team honored its five seniors at Kirk Pool during a Saturday afternoon meet, which it lost to Fordham, 160-140.

Those honored included Adriana Correa, Emily Heath, Erin Karski, Laurie McLaughlin and Marci Wixted.

Correa clocked a 2:14.15 in the 200-fly, good for fifth.  She went on to swim a 56.30 in the 100-free and anchored the 400-free relay to a second-place finish.

Karski swam on both the 200-medley (27.62) and 400-free (56.86) relays.

Wixted clocked in third in the 100-breast (1:12.11) and swam on the second leg of the 200-medley relay (32.68).

Several Explorers posted top finishes on the day.

Junior Jessica Simunek won three events on the day, taking the 100-breast in 1:12.11, 200-breast in 2:23.40 and 100-fly in 58.70.

Classmate Elizabeth Jordan won both the 200-free (1:55.29) and the 100-free (54.38).

Freshman Colleen Larkin won both of the distance events, taking the 1000-free in 10:21.57 and (5:04.05).

Sophomore Katie Snee finished on top in the 50-free (24.83).

The Explorers came up second in both the 400-free and 200-medley relays.

La Salle will be in action again next week when it travels to swim Loyola on Friday evening in Baltimore.
