PHILADELPHIA - One of three teams currently tied atop the Atlantic 10 standings, the La Salle men's basketball team returns to Tom Gola Arena on Wednesday to host Charlotte. The Explorers, owners of the nation's 11th longest home winning streak at 13 games, will look to set a new Gola Arena record with their 12th win this season in the building.

Scouting the Explorers (16-6, 5-2 A-10)

After a gritty 71-68 road win at Duquesne on Saturday, the Blue and Gold are tied with Massachusetts and St. Bonaventure for first place in the competitive Atlantic 10 Conference with matching 5-2 records. La Salle has won three straight contests, nine out of its last 11 games and the 5-2 Atlantic 10 start is the best since the Explorers joined the conference.

Junior Ramon Galloway, the reigning Atlantic 10 and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week, ranks fifth nationally in three-point shooting at 48.1%. La Salle as a team ranks ninth at 40.5%.

Galloway remains the team's top scorer at 15.5 ppg. and ranks 10th in the Atlantic 10 in that category. Galloway had 10 assists at Duquesne, the most by an Explorer since Rodney Green dished 12 versus UMass on March 3, 2010.

Senior Earl Pettis, who has averaged 18.2 ppg. over his last eight contests, adds 15.0 ppg. Sophomore Tyreek Duren, the A-10's leader in plus/minus according to statsheet.com, scores 13.5 ppg. and sophomore Sam Mills adds 11.4 ppg.

Freshman Jerrell Wright (8.6 ppg.) is the team's top rebounder at 6.2 rpg. and shot blocker with 28 rejections.

Scouting the 49ers (10-10, 2-5 A-10)

Charlotte has dropped three straight games and five of six after beating Richmond and SJU to start the A-10 season. Chris Braswell leads the 49ers in scoring (14.4 ppg.) and rebounding (7.4 rpg.). Javarris Barnett adds 12.3 ppg. and 6.3 rpg. while DeMario Mayfield scores 10.2 ppg. Charlotte is 10-10, 5-5 at home and 5-5 on the road.

The Series

Charlotte leads the all-time series 5-2, but La Salle has won two of the last three.
