PHILADELPHIA Fresh off a victory over preseason Atlantic 10 favorite Xavier, La Salle will look to keep the momentum going as it welcomes the Minutemen to Tom Gola Arena for a 2:00 p.m. contest on Sunday.

Scouting the Explorers (11-4, 1-0 A-10)

The Explorers have been playing extremely well at home, winning 10 straight games dating back to last season.  A win on Sunday would be number 11 and would tie for the most consecutive home victories since La Salle won 11 straight from January 9 to December 4, 1990.

In La Salle's latest victory over Xavier, senior Earl Pettis scored a season-high 23 points and junior Ramon Galloway had 16 as the Explorers built a 16-point lead at the break and continued to lead by double-digits for most of the second half.

La Salle held its opponent's leading scorer under his scoring average for the 11th time in 12 games, limiting Xavier's All-American Tu Holloway to 15 points, less than his 18.2 ppg average.

Three-point shooting has been a strength of the Explorers this season and they are 10-1 when making at least eight three-pointers.  The Blue and Gold hit their shots at a .395 clip from beyond the arc, led by Galloway's .479 shooting.

La Salle has outscored opponents by close to 13 points per game this season.  The Explorers are 11-0 when scoring at least 70 points.

Scouting the Minutemen (12-3, 1-0 A-10)

Raphiael Putney and Terrell Vinson each recorded double-doubles and Chaz Williams added 20 points as UMass opened its conference season with an 80-76 victory over Fordham on Thursday evening.

The Minutemen are on a six-game winning streak and are second in the A-10 in scoring, averaging 77.3 points per game.

The squad shoots .421 from the field, including .338 from beyond the arc.
