CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte's goal just before the halftime break proved to be the game winner as the La Salle men's soccer squad fell 3-0 against the Niners on Sunday afternoon at Transamerica Field.

The Explorers drop to 8-3-2 (2-1 Atlantic 10) while the Niners improve to 8-2-3 (2-1-1 Atlantic 10).

Jennings Rex scored the game winner with 20 seconds before the break and added an insurance goal just after the break in the 49th minute. Kyle Parker added his first goal of the season in the 67th minute.

The Explorers found themselves outshot 24-2, including 14-1 at the half, but the defense was holding strong by holding the home squad off the board until the 45th minute. La Salle keeper John McCarthy made 10 total saves in the game, five in each half.

The Explorers return home next weekend, hosting Richmond on Friday (10/19) at 7 p.m. and VCU on Sunday (10/21) at 1 p.m.
