PHILADELPHIA - The women's novice four put together a sixth-place finish to lead the La Salle rowing team at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta this weekend.

The novice four clocked an 18:34.03 to finish sixth out of 12 boats in the race. Villanova captured the race in 16:49.48.

Two eight boats competed this weekend as well as an open four. One of the eights competed in the open heavy championship eight race, finishing 16th out of 27 boats with a time of 14:54.12. The Explorers edged out Trinity, which finished in 14:55.83. Michigan State won the race in 13:56.45.

Another eight rowed in the open club eight race, finishing 24th out of 31. The Explorers clocked a 16:13.54, just behind Union's 16:13.01. Trinity won in 14:22.52.

A four boat raced in the open four race, and finished 33rd out of 38 with a time of 18:09.40. Michigan State won in 15:20.39.
