PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle volleyball team will host Temple on Friday evening at Tom Gola Arena in its annual Explore-A-Cure breast cancer awareness event.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is once again raising awareness for Breast Cancer research during the month of October through its Explore-A-Cure campaign. To raise funds members of the organization are selling Explore-A-Cure lanyards for $3 and bracelets for $1. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Scouting the Explorers
La Salle fell to to Dayton and Xavier last weekend, in its second full week of Atlantic 10 Conference play.
Jennifer Whelan combined for 11 kills (.391) and three blocks in the two matches, raising her hitting percentage on the season to .170, good for second on team. Her 40 season blocks is tops on the the Explorers. Seniors
Samantha Tulskie (4.22 digs/set) and
Breanna Mazalewski (4.03 digs/set) rank sixth and seventh, respectively on the A-10 leaderboard.
Scouting the Owls
Temple's loss to Dayton last Saturday halted a seven-game winning streak for the Owls. Junior OH Elyse Burkett is their main offensive catalyst, ranking second in the A-10 in kills/set (4.23) and points/set (4.50). Senior L Chelsea Tupuola stands atop the conference leaderboard and ranks 22nd nationally with 5.35 digs/set while sophomore S Tiffany Connaster's 11.34 assists/set are good for second-most in the A-10.
As a team, Temple ranks second in the conference in kills/set (13.15) and assists/set (12.37).
