PHILADELPHIA – In its final road trip of the season, La Salle volleyball meets a pair of Atlantic 10 opponents this weekend at Butler and St. Louis.
Scouting the Explorers
La Salle lost 3-1 to Charlotte and 3-0 to VCU last weekend. Five Explorer seniors were honored before the VCU match, in the last home contest of their volleyball careers.
Senior
Samantha Tulskie recorded two more double-doubles last weekend, giving her 15 on the season, the highest total in the A-10. She is averaging 4.30 digs/set, ranking fifth in the conference. She is joined in the top-10 by classmate
Breanna Mazalewski, whose 4.19 digs/set ranks seventh in the A-10. Team defense has been a strength for the Explorers all season long, ranking sixth in the conference in digs/set (15.72).
Offensively, senior
Kelly Scanlon has carried the load for La Salle and has crept into the top-10 in the conference in kills/set (3.09). She is the Explorer's top hitter (.174) in addition to averaging 2.60 digs/set, good for third-most on the team.

Scouting the Bulldogs
Butler swept Fordham and Rhode Island last weekend to improve its conference mark to 4-7 in its first-ever season through the A-10 shredder. The Bulldog's team strength is undoubtedly its size up front, ranking second in the conference in blocks (3.0 blocks/set) and opponent hitting percentage (.168). Butler also averages 1.43 service aces/set, good for second in the conference.
Individually, Butler has three players in the top-10 in the A-10 in blocks/set including MB Erica Stahl (second, 1.50), MB Claire Randich (fourth, 1.16), and S Morgan Peterson (eighth, 1.01), all underclassmen. The Bulldogs roster sports only one senior, OH Rachel Barber, who ranks third on the team in kills/set (1.89).

Scouting the Billikens
St. Louis has won two of its last three, beating and Eastern Illinois 3-1 and Fordham 3-0 around a 3-2 loss to Rhode Island. The Billikens rank second in the A-10 in digs/set (16.59), led by junior L Grace Bonoma, the conference's third-leading digger at 4.56 digs/set.
Senior S Cassie Clark ranks third in the conference in hitting percentage (.358) and 10
th in assists (8.93/set). Senior MB Carly Marcum averages 1.05 blocks/set, good for seventh in the A-10. R-sophomore Lauren Baumet is the Billikens foremost offensive threat, averaging 2.52 kills/set.
