FAIRFAX STATION, Va. - The La Salle women's crew rowed three boats this weekend at the Head of the Occoquan at Sandy Run Regional Park in Fairfax Station, Va.
Two of the boats finished in the top half of their respective fields to give the Explorers a good showing at the race.
The novice four put together a seventh place effort out of 20 boats, clocking a 22:29.22, just barely off of West Virginia's mark of 22:28.7. Duquesne won the race in 20:09.29.
The varsity eight also finished in the top half, crossing the finish line 12th out of 34 boats. The Explorers clocked an 18:14.13, just ahead of Delaware. Georgetown won in 17:04.93.
The novice eight was also in action, finishing 15th out of 26 boats. The Explorers raced a 22:03.95, edging out Liberty, which finished in 22:06.43. Navy won with a time of 18:25.73.
The Explorers return to action on Saturday at the annual Frostbite Regatta on the Cooper River. The Frostbite Regatta will conclude the fall racing schedule.
