WASHINGTON, D.C. – The La Salle men's basketball team travels to the nation's capital on Wednesday night in its final road game of the season at 7 PM at the Smith Center. The Explorers will look to gain momentum heading into their final regular season contest on Saturday versus St.  Bonaventure and next week's Atlantic 10 Tournament.

Scouting the Explorers (18-11, 7-7 A-10)

The Blue and Gold returns to the court after suffering a 67-62 defeat on Saturday at Fordham. The Explorers will look to improve their rebounding and take care of the basketball in hopes of defeating George Washington for the second time this season.

Senior Earl Pettis, who needs 22 points to reach 1,000 for his career, leads the team in scoring at 15.2 ppg. Last season at GW he hit five three-pointers on his way to 21 points at the Smith Center.

Junior Ramon Galloway adds 14.5 ppg. and has made a team-high 61 three-pointers this season. Sophomore Tyreek Duren paces the team in assists (118) and adds 13.4 ppg. for LU, while classmate Sam Mills averages 11.3 ppg.

Freshman Jerrell Wright, who has made his last 12 foul shots, adds 9.5 ppg. and 5.9 rpg. to round out the starting five.

The last time these two teams met, Galloway scored a career-high 28 points in a 78-63 victory over the Colonials on January 5. He shot 11-for-12 from the field as the Explorers shot a season-best 57% from the floor. Pettis had 15 and Wright added 12.

Scouting the Colonials (10-18, 5-9 A-10)

George Washington is coming off a 56-51 win over Duquesne on Saturday behind David Pellom's third consecutive double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds). Tony Taylor leads the Colonials in scoring (13.4 ppg.) and assists (122) while Lasan Kromah scores 11.1 ppg. Pellom adds 9.5 ppg. and 5.6 rpg.

Mills and GW's Brian Bynes are close friends that played AAU Basketball together growing up. Both are from the greater Fort Lauderdale, FL area.

Dr. John Giannini and Mike Lonergan coached against each other in 1996 while at Rowan and Catholic, respectively. Catholic upset the #1 ranked Rowan squad, 92-88.
