EASTON, Pa. - The La Salle baseball team, coming off a series victory at George Washington to open Atlantic 10 play, will remain on the road on Tuesday when it visits Lafayette at 3:30 PM in the first round of the Liberty Bell Classic. The winner of Tuesday's game will play either Villanova or Penn in the LBC semifinals next Tuesday.

Scouting the Explorers (13-10)
La Salle has won eight of its last 10 games heading to the Lehigh Valley, with its two losses coming by a combined five runs. Junior
Dan Klem is the reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Week after batting .380 with three extra-base hits. He is second on the team in hitting at .307 and paces the club with 16 RBI.
LU continues to be one of the league's stronger pitching staffs, ranking fifth in the A-10 in ERA at 4.62. La Salle leads the league in strikeouts and only two teams have walked less batters than the Explorers.
In Monday's NCAA statistical update, La Salle ranks 31st in walks per nine innings and 49th in strikeouts per nine. Offensively, LU is 16th nationally in walks, led by senior
Brendan Norton, who continues to lead the country. Senior
Jeff Flax is the ninth toughest batter to strikeout and junior
Pat Christensen, who set the La Salle, A-10 and Big 5 record for career saves at 30, is 15th with six saves. Senior
Kevin Christy is 28th in strikeouts per nine innings.
Offensively, junior
Joe Bennie paces the team in hitting at .325, runs (19), and home runs (three).
Scouting the Leopards (6-13-1)
Lafayette has dropped seven out of nine games including a split with Big 5 counterpart Penn on Saturday. La Salle defeated Lafayette, 11-1, in its home opener on February 28.
The Leopards are batting .243 as a team, led by Andrew Ruck at .282. Brad Hopek has a team best 13 RBI. On the mound, Lafayette posts a 5.77 ERA.
Last year, coach Joe Kinney's squad went 18-30 and 10-10 in the Patriot League, reaching the league semifinals.

La Salle will return home to host Richmond beginning Friday in an A-10 three-game series.
