PHILADELPHIA – Diving senior Laurie McLaughlin has been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-Area Team, as announced today.
 
The team was selected based on a voted on by the Philadelphia-area college sports information offices.
 
McLaughlin, a Lansdale, Pa. native, has had an outstanding career at La Salle. 
 
All four years as an Explorer she has finished in the top 10 in both the 1-and 3-meter dives at the Atlantic 10 Championships.
 
In 2012, she took fourth in the 3-meter (241.40) and sixth in the 1-meter (222.15).
 
She also qualified for NCAA Zones for the second consecutive time this year.  She finished a career-best 25^th in the 3-meter dive and then 32^nd on the 1-meter board.
 
McLaughlin is one of ten women honored.  Drexel's Lauren Faykes was selected as the Women's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Year.
