Scouting the Explorers
The Explorers had a three-game unbeaten streak snapped at the hands of Villanova, dropping a 2-1 game on the Main Line on Thursday in the lone game of the week.
Rob Friskey scored the Explorers' goal in the 68th minute, his first goal of the season.
The Explorers topped the Retrievers 2-1 last year in Philly behind Friskey's goal with just 13 seconds remaining in regulation.
Jason Plumhoff and
Joe Farrell continue to lead the Explorers in scoring, both with three goals and two assists apiece. They each have two game-winning goals as well.
Scouting the Retrievers
UMBC has won back-to-back games, topping Loyola (Md.) 2-0 and beating George Washington 2-1 this past weekend.
Senior Milo Kapor has had the hot foot as of late, playing a part in all four of the Retrievers' goals last week with one score and three assists.
Kapor leads with 12 points on two goals and eight assists, while Pete Caringi is the leader in goals with four.
Phil Saunders has played every minute in goal, recording a 0.95 goals against average and .843 save percentage with three shutouts.
