PHILADELPHIA – The women's swim and dive team took down the Loyola Greyhounds 180-116 in today's dual meet at Kirk Pool. The Explorers saw strong performances in nearly every event, winning 14 of the 16 events in the program.
Sophomore
Amina Wilson earned three individual wins in the 100 and 200 yard backstrokes (59.99 and 2:08.99) as well as the 200 yard individual medley (2:12.63). Wilson added a fourth win leading off the victorious 200 yard medley relay.
Sophomore
Colleen Larkin continued her dominance of the distance events, taking first in the 500 and 1000 yard freestyles (5:06.44 and 10:26.49, respectively). Behind Larkin in the 1000 was junior
Greta Reichert and in third was freshman
Hayley Miles.
Senior
Elizabeth Jordan added two more individual wins for the Explorers, besting the field in the 100 yard breaststroke and 100 yard freestyle in times of 1:06.35 and 52.73, respectively. Fellow senior
Jessica Simunek also recorded two wins in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:24.87) and 100 yard butterfly (58.20).
Junior
Katie Snee was the fastest Explorer in the pool today, earning a first place finish in the 50 yard freestyle in a time of 24.27.
Sophomore
Paige Frishkorn picked up a first place finish on the 1 meter board with a score of 213.30 while freshman
Kelly Quinn earned gold on 3 meter with a score of 2:05.27.
The Explorers return to Kirk Pool on Saturday, February 2 to take on Penn for the final meet of the year before the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship set for February 20-23.
