Last Time vs. Scarlet Knights
A trio of former Explorers put up double digits to jumpstart a slow offensive game at Rutgers last season in a 54-50 setback. Shanel Harrison led with 17, Brittany Wilson added 12 and Jordan Mosley scored 10. The two squads combined for just 24 points in the first half of last year's game, as Rutgers held a 13-11 lead at the break. Former Scarlet Knight Erica Wheeler scored 14, and Betnijah Laney and Rachel Hollivay added 11 each.

All-Time Series
The Explorers are 2-5 all-time against the Scarlet Knights in a series dating back to 1975. The Explorers captured the first two wins in 1975 and 1976. This season marks the third straight that the two squads have met, after resuming a series left off in 1983.

Scouting the Explorers

La Salle opened the 2013-14 season last Friday with a brand new starting five. Though the Explorers led Temple 27-23 at the half, the Owls responded with a 37-20 clip in the second half to take the 60-47 decision in the season opener for both squads.

Alicia Cropper made her Explorer debut, pouring in all 13 of her points in the first half. Khristin Lee lit up the box score with 11 points, eight rebounds, five assists, five steals and one blocked shot. Siobhan Beslow pulled down a team-best 12 rebounds, leading the Explorers to a 43-37 edge on the glass.

Rookie Micahya Owens was solid in her collegiate debut, scoring eight points, pulling down four rebounds, and adding three assists and three blocked shots in 33 minutes of play.

The Explorers saw minutes out of every healthy player on the squad, with the exception of Lisa Mintzer who remains sidelined with an ankle injury.

Scouting the Scarlet Knights

Rutgers enters the game with a 2-0 record after dispatching Princeton and Northeastern in the first two games of the season. The Scarlet Knights topped Princeton 79-65 behind double-digit efforts from six players, then topped Northeastern 65-51 thanks to 26 points from Kahleah Copper.

Copper is averaging 21.0 ppg through her first two games of the season, along with 8.0 rpg. Betnijah Laney is averaging a double-double of 14.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game, and Briyona Canty has contributed 11.0 ppg so far.

The team has outscored their opponents by 14 points per game, but has struggled on the boards as the Scarlet Knights currently record a -3.0 rebounding margin. They have shot at a 47.9 percent clip while holding opponents to 33.9 percent from the field.
