Women's Basketball Drops 54-46 Decision To Duquesne

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team mounted a furious second half comeback but ultimately fell 54-46 to Duquesne in its home finale at Tom Gola Arena. Jordan Mosley led all scorers with 13 points, Ebonee Jones added 11, and Shanel Harrison recorded a 10 point, 15 rebound line in her going away party.

The Explorers trailed the Dukes 29-15 at the half but outscored the visitors 31-25 in the second frame. The Blue and Gold shot 27 percent (15-56) for the game and 36 percent (10-28) in the second period. La Salle made the most of its trips to the free throw line, converting at 79 percent (15-19) for the game.

La Salle, which never led in the game, cut the Duquesne lead to 52-46 with a Michea Bryant free throw at the :46 mark, but the Explorers could not get any closer in the loss.

The Dukes were paced in scoring by Vanessa Abel with 12 points and Stasia King added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Duquesne shot 30 percent (18-60) from the field and 68 percent (15-22) from the charity stripe.

The Explorers will play again on Sunday at St. Bonaventure at 3 PM.
