PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle men's track and field squad opened its outdoor season on Saturday afternoon at the Philadelphia College Classic, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania at Franklin Field. Vince Perozze clocked a PR (14:35.30) in the 5000m run, crossing the finish line first (29-runner field).

Dan Day (2nd, 14:44.82), Zach Sullivan (3rd, 14:44.78), Ian Barnhill (5th, 14:52.47), Nico Greco (6th, 14:52.98), and Brendan Robertson (10th, 15:07.95) all finished in the top-10 in the event.

Wayne Bartholomew finished fifth (14-runner field) in the 400m, clocking a 50.37, good for a PR. Oren Buie was the top Explorer finisher in the 100m dash, placing fourth with an 11.45. 

The Explorers will return to action next weekend. Some runners will travel to Stanford, California for the Stanford Invitational while others will compete locally at the Danny Curran Widener Invitational.
