LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The Explorers jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but New Mexico State (5-8) outscored the Blue and Gold 18-5 the rest of the way in an 18-8 Aggie victory on Friday evening at the Presley Askew Baseball Complex. Four La Salle hitters notched multi-hit games in another high scoring affair in New Mexico's dry air.

Freshman Joey Ravert put together the most impressive offensive game of his young career, posting a 3-for-4 line with 2 RBI, a walk, and a run scored. Sophomore Kevin Conroy picked up three hits and 2 RBI as well while junior George Smith, Jr. went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a walk, and an RBI. Sophomore Kevin Baron registered his fifth mult-hit game of the year with a 2-for-5, 1 RBI showing.

The Explorers (2-8) scored one in the second and added two in the third. The Aggies proceeded to put up a combined 14 runs the third, fourth, and fifth to effectively put the game out of reach. La Salle added three more in the sixth to cut the lead to 14-8, but they wouldn't get any closer the rest of the way.

Junior Shawn O'Neill (0-2) started the game on the hill and took the loss, allowing nine earned runs in 3.1 innings. Austin Clark, Dominic Sgroi, and Alec Baum each worked in relief and combined to forfeit seven earned runs.

A doubleheader is on tap tomorrow, with the first pitch set for 5:05 PM ET.
